NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Registration

NRA Basic Pistol Shooting                 8+ Hours      FEE:  

The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely. This course averages 8 + hours and includes classroom and range time, learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn NRA rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, two handed and one handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development.      

Students will receive the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure,Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination, and course completion certificate.

 

Live Fire: Requires Eye and Ear Protection.

Please note: Participants under the age of 18 must have parent or legal guardian accompany them in class.

This is an NRA certification course. Please register two weeks prior to course start date.

This course will be taught by an NRA Certified Instructor and NRA Range Safety Officer.

We provide Everything: Firearms*, Ammunition*, Targets, Training Material, Range Time, and Certification.

(Note: Times are approximate and actual time depends on the experience of the members of the class. Plan to spend the entire day training.)

* We encourage you to bring YOUR firearm, however, if you do not have one then we will provide either a .38 revolver or 9mm semi-automatic.

If you use your firearm then you will need to purchase ammunition from Fred's Sports.

The class is held at the DPS Training Classroom in La Plata, MD at 8AM. The "live fire" activity is at Fred's Sporting Goods in Waldorf, MD.
